Uttarakhand Police identified people who allegedly pelted stones at the police force and damaged their vehicles during a protest at the main Rajpur road of Dehradun, demanding a CBI inquiry into recruitment irregularities, said Senior Superintendent of Police Dilip Singh Kunwar.
A 44-year-old woman and her daughter were killed after a fire broke out during an anti-encroachment drive at Marauli village of Kanpur Dehat region, the police said on Tuesday.
One person was killed and two more injured in a major accident after the scooter they were on rammed into a divider near the Burari flyover, the police informed on Tuesday.
"NDRF is participating in rescue operations and is making efforts to rescue those stuck in the ruins. The police and army are working together for the same," Ravinder said
According to the police the caller was identified as Yashwant Mane who dialled the top cop and asked police to send personnel to Mira-Bhaydar immediately.
