As the Monsoon session of Parliament begins on Thursday, several opposition MPs affiliated to the Communist Party of India, Congress among others, moved notices to respective Houses demanding discussions on the "Manipur situation".
"We want to have a discussion on the Manipur situation in the upcoming session of Parliament. The second issue is the assault on democratically elected state governments through Governors and LGs, Delhi ordinance is one such example," the Congress leader said.
Nationalist Congress Party chief Sharad Pawar on Friday expressed his inability to attend the all-party meeting which will be chaired by Union Home Minister Amit Shah on the Manipur situation.
