As per information, the 206-metre-long bridge had developed cracks a few days back. The front part of the bridge between pillar no 2 and pillar no 3 collapsed.
According to various media reports on Thursday, the parents and US Coastal Guard authorities stated that the teen's bicycle, bag and phone were found at the bridge and believed the victim jumped off the bridge.
The state government, in its affidavit, said a total compensation of Rs 10 lakh will be paid to the kin of each of the deceased and a grant of Rs 1 lakh each will be paid to the injured in the bridge collapse incident.
"The bridge for the physically challenged in Chennai Marina got damaged due to Cyclone and DMK government did corruption in the construction of the bridge," said D Jayakumar.
The 3.81-km four-lane Connector Bridge links Davao's third-largest city and tourist island. The bridge, projected to be completed in 2027, can accommodate up to 25,000 vehicles daily. It is also expected to reduce travel time between Samal and Davao City.

Nine persons including officials of Oreva, the company that renovated the bridge, ticket sellers and security men have been arrested for the Morbi bridge collapse in Gujarat.
