A joint operation has been launched by Indian Army and the Poonch police against the terrorists who infiltrated towards the Indian side in the Chakan Da bagh area of Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district, said officials on Sunday.
"All the CPs/SSPs were directed to depute strong police parties to make this operation successful, which was aimed at disrupting the nexus between terrorists, gangsters and drug smugglers based in India and Abroad. Police teams were asked to round up suspicious persons during the operation,
"They were also involved in facilitating the movement of terrorists, providing them with transport facilities, and engaging in anti-national activities that pose a threat to the region's security," police said.
Huge quantities of drugs and ammunition have been recovered from slain terrorists in a joint operation by Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir police in the Kala Jungle of the Machhal sector in Kupwara, said an official statement.
"In a joint operation, Army and Police have killed four #terrorists in Kala Jungle of Machhal sector in #Kupwara who were trying to infiltrate to our side from POJK," Jammu and Kashmir police said in a tweet.
