Two terrorists were killed as the Indian troops, in a joint operation with Jammu and Kashmir Police, foiled an infiltration attempt in the Machil sector of Kupwara district, the Army informed through a statement on Saturday evening.
A total of 47 terrorists were killed and 204 apprehended in multiple operations conducted by the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and other security forces in Jammu and Kashmir till September 26 this year, official sources said.
The security forces killed three terrorists in an operation in the Khyber district of Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, reported Dawn citing the military’s media affairs wing.
During the operation, a huge cache of arms, ammunition and currencies, both Indian and Pakistani, was recovered by the Indian Army and J&K Police from the terrorists who tried to infiltrate.
"2 Terrorists have been eliminated and bodies recovered, third terrorist killed but retrieval of body being interfered by firing by Pak post in vicinity, on LoC," the Army statement added.
In a social media post on X, formerly Twitter, Kashmir Zone Police wrote, "1 more terrorist killed (Total 02). Search operation in progress. Further details shall follow".
At least seven terrorists were killed in a gun battle with the security personnel in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's Chitral district on Sunday, ARY News reported, citing the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The army killed two terrorists and foiled an infiltration bid in the Mandi area of Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir on the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday, officials said.
