Joint forces of Jammu and Kashmir Police and the Indian Army have busted a terrorist module at Uri in Baramulla district of the union territory, arresting three people and recovering from them arms and ammunition, said authorities.
Ahead of Independence Day, two ‘hybrid’ terrorists of the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) along with arms ammunition were arrested from Baramulla’s Azadgunj, said J-K police in a statement of Wednesday.
Two terrorists associated with the banned outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) were arrested along with arms and ammunition in Baramulla, informed Jammu and Kashmir Police on Thursday.
In Jenin, suspects fired massive shots at the forces, who responded by returning fire. In addition, suspects threw explosives at the fighters. The forces responded with measures to disperse the attackers.
State Investigation Agency (SIA) of Jammu and Kashmir Police arrested two absconding terrorists of Hizbul Mujahideen involved in the killing of Mirwaiz Farooq in 1990, said Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbagh Singh on Tuesday.
According to details provided by Rangers, the accused used to receive instructions from a TTP terrorist, Afsar Khan alias Arshad, who is based in Afghanistan. The arrested terrorists would provide mobile numbers of local businessmen in Karachi to Afsar Khan in Afghanistan.
