The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Sunday stated that the agency had arrested three insurgents involved in a fatal attack on security forces in Moreh, Manipur's Tengnoupal district, on January 17, 2024, resulting in the deaths of two police commandos and injuries to several others.
According to the police, 08(eight) IED, 08(eight) local made Hand Grenade, 25(twenty-five) Electric Detonators, 05(five) No 8 Detonators, 40(forty) 5.56 mm INSAS rounds, 60(sixty) .62 mm AK rounds 01(one) Motorola set with Charger were recovered during search operations.
During search operations, six Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) were recovered from T Minou village (under Moreh Police Station) in Tengnoupal district of Manipur, on April 26.
The operations were launched in coordination with Manipur Police, CRPF, BSF, and ITBP in Churachandpur, Tengnoupal, Imphal East and Imphal West districts.
