Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath performed ‘havan’ and 'rudrabhishek' of Lord Shiv at Gorakhnath temple in Gorakhpur on the sixth Monday of 'Sawan' month.
"Twenty to 25 people are trapped under debris here. A total of 21 people have died in the last 24 hours in the state. I appeal to people to stay indoors, to not venture near rivers and landslide-prone areas. Restoration work will begin as soon as rain stops," the chief minister said.
The devotees queued up in the early morning to seek the blessings of Lord Shiva at the temple and also attended a special ‘Bhasma Aarti’ of Baba Mahakal performed here on the occasion.
Talking to the reporters, he said, "Whenever we come here for the blessings of Tirupati Balaji we feel the positive energy and vibes. It gives us a lot of energy to go back and work for the welfare of the people."
