Questioning the timing of the 'Pran Patishtha' ceremony at the grand Ram Temple in Ayodhya, close to the next Lok Sabha elections, senior Congress leader TS Singh Deo on Thursday claimed that the event is not 'purely religious' and has distinct 'political undertones'.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said on Thursday that various programmes have been undertaken by Assam BJP to celebrate Ram Temple 'Pran Pratishtha' to be held on January 22 and the state will observe a dry day on the occasion.
