Supporters of Telangana Congress president held demonstrations in Hyderabad on Tuesday demanding that Revanth Reddy be made the Chief Minister as he steered the party to victory.
"The decision on CM is to be taken after the report is submitted to the party president. Telangana Congress chief Revanth Reddy is the frontrunner for the CM post," sources said on Monday.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday termed BJP's victories in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh as historic and said various sections including the poor, farmers and tribal brothers and sisters were seeing it as their victory.
"The victory that we got today is for those who made supreme sacrifice for Telangana. We will take forward their ideals and will make sure to fulfil all our promises," Revanth Reddy said at a press briefing in Hyderbad.

As the counting of votes is underway for the assembly election in Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Telangana, Congress supporters were seen bursting crackers at the AICC headquarters in New Delhi.
Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar claimed on Saturday that the Congress candidates in Telangana informed the party about them being approached by Bharat Rashtra Samithi chief and Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao in an attempt to form the government in the state.
