Delhi's Rouse Avenue Court granted bail to Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Yadav, his wife Rabri Devi, Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav and others in connection with the alleged land-for-jobs scam case.
JDU leader and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and his ally and RJD patriarch Lalu Prasad Yadav termed the publication of the report "historic", the BJP and other prominent parties of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) have criticised the Bihar government calling the report an “eye wash”.
"It is important to know who are these people who cleans our drains, who stays at Jhuggis, who are labourers, who are landless...this census has made it clear whose population is how much in the state and what is their economic state," Yadav said speaking to reporters at Patna on Monday.
After the Bihar Government released caste survey data, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar congratulated the entire team engaged in the work of caste-based enumeration stating that the survey not only revealed the castes but also gave information about the economic condition of everyone.
"We are of a new mindset. We have given the facilities and infrastructure to the talented youth of the state. This will give them a lot of opportunities," Deputy CM Yadav said.
