A team of Bengaluru Police on Friday arrived at the record room of District and Sessions Court in Jaunpur, as a part of their investigation into the suicide case of a techie, Atul Subhash.
A four-member team of Bengaluru Police, including one woman police personnel, arrived in Uttar Pradesh's Jaunpur which is the residence of the wife of Atul Subhash, the techie who died by suicide and pasted a notice.
"My son used to say that there is a lot of corruption but he will fight as he is on the path of truth...He was broken from inside, though he didn't tell anyone anything," the father said.
Earlier, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Whitefield, Shivakumar, confirmed that Atul Subhash died by suicide in the early hours of December 9 due to alleged harassment from his wife and her family.
In the wake of the tragic suicide of a Bengaluru tech professional, criminal lawyer Advocate Vikas Pahwa on Wednesday called for urgent reforms to curb the misuse of Section 498A, which deals with dowry harassment.

Providing suggestions to curb the misuse of Section 498 A, the advocate said, "Make 498 A bailable, make it gender-neutral---that if the wife has harassed the husband, he should also be able to file a complaint against them and mediation in all cases--- that is before you register the cas
"His wife and her family members demanded money from him to settle this issue and harassed him. For those reasons, he committed suicide. Based on this complaint, we registered an FIR against the accused. An investigation is underway," said the official.
"Dowry laws, being made to protect women should not be misused because if some women are going to misuse these laws, then it will directly deny justice to women who need them," said the lawyer.
The FIR, lodged by Atul's brother Bikas Kumar at the Marathahalli police station in Bengaluru has been filed against the techie's wife Nikita Singhania, his mother-in-law Nisha Singhania, wife's brother Anurag Singhania and his wife's uncle Sushil Singhania.
