Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) Vice Chancellor Dr PG Sankaran on Monday informed that a three-member committee has been formed to investigate the tech fest stampede incident in which four students died and several students were left injured.
Union Minister V Muraleedharan expressed grief over the loss of four lives in a stampede at the Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) and alleged that there was a serious lapse on the part of the organisers at the event.
Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) M R Ajith Kumar called the incident a 'freak accident' and said that the sudden rains in the area drove the huge crowd of students to the stampede since all of the students tried to take cover from the rainfall.
