Phased elimination of tariffs over up to ten years has been adopted for certain intermediate products used by India's food processing industry and sourced from multiple countries.

India's external position among Asian peers improves following the interim trade framework announced between India and the United States, with exports expected to rebound and dollar inflows likely to strengthen, according to a report by JM Financial.
"The buying of crude oil, LNG, or LPG from the US is in India's strategic interest as we diversify sources. But the decisions are taken by the buyers themselves. The trade deal does not decide who will buy what and from where," Goyal told ANI.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with ANI, Goyal said the agreement reflects "intense negotiations on both sides" and will create significant opportunities across sectors.

BJP National Spokesperson CR Kesavan on Sunday hailed the India-US Interim Trade Framework Agreement, which significantly reduces tariffs on Indian exported goods from 50 per cent to 18 per cent.
