Tamil Nadu Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday wrote to the state Director General of Police (DGP) and demanded action against DMK leader Shivaji Krishnamoorthy for making controversial remarks against Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi.

Tamilisai Soundarajan further said that such a language even used against any ordinary citizen cannot be tolerated, hence requesting the party leaders to control their functionaries.
Tamil Nadu Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) unit Vice President Narayana Thirupathy on Friday lashed out at the ruling party DMK leader Shivaji Krishnamoorthy over the latter's controversial remark against State governor RN Ravi.
"If you (governor) don't read out the speech given by the Tamil Nadu government, then go to Kashmir, and we'll send terrorists so that they'll gun you down," Krishnamoorthy said while addressing an event.
"If there is any difference between central and state government, there is no doubt that you (civil service aspirant interview candidates) should be standing with Central Government," Ravi said.
"Since in this country, the largest number of people speak Hindi, it will be helpful to learn one more Indian language," the governor said when he was asked about the Hindi language.
Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi on Tuesday said state disputes should be resolved through peaceful dialogue as aggressive political inputs can only create problems.
Amid the ongoing 'Thamizhagam' row, CPI(M) MP Su Venkatesan on Tuesday tweeted that the invitation from the governor for Pongal festival mentions the Gov as 'Thamizhagam Governor', while in an invitation for the portrait ceremony it was mentioned 'Tamil Nadu Governor'.
On Wednesday the Tamil Nadu assembly will commence by 10 am to debate on the motion to thank the Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi for delivering his customary address in the Assembly.
Amid the row over Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi's remark that 'Tamizhagam' rather than 'Tamil Nadu' would be a more appropriate name for the state, many posters with the words '#Getout Ravi' were spotted in Valluvar Kottam and Anna Salai areas of West Chennai.
