An explosion at a firecracker manufacturing unit in Chinnakamanpatti near Sivakasi in Tamil Nadu has claimed four lives and left five others injured. The injured have been hospitalised in Virudhunagar as police investigate the cause of the blast.
A fire broke out in the warehouse of Krishna Fireworks factory in Tamil Nadu's Virudhunagar district on Tuesday, according to the fire department officials.
The injured, identified as Balpandi (31) sustained 20 per cent burn injuries and was admitted to the hospital for treatment, said officials from the fire and rescue department.
Two individuals were severely injured after firecrackers stored illegally in a cowshed exploded near the Sivakasi area of the Virudhunagar district of Tamil Nadu, said the fire & rescue department of Sivakasi on Sunday.
Two other persons who sustained injuries in the incident have been admitted to the Sivakasi government hospital for treatment, the Fire Department said.
Upon receiving the information, fire tenders rushed to the spot and started to douse the fire. After two hours of the operation, the fire brigade was able to bring the fire under control. No one was injured in the incident.
