Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) President, MK Stalin, said all like-minded Opposition parties need to come together with a single-pointed goal -- to defeat the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in next year's Lok Sabha elections.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday said that "duplicity of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin's character is unacceptable" as the latter is now opposing the arrest of his fellow minister Senthil Balaji while the DMK president was the one who called him "corrupt" in the past.

Stalin, who is the president of the DMK tore into BJP following the arrest of its leader Senthil Balaji by the Enforcement Directorate on early Wednesday and said they would not be intimated by the BJP threats.
"Tamil Nadu CM fully knows that he is in the dock if CBI registers a preliminary inquiry. That is why, in panic mode, he has withdrawn the general consent given to CBI," Annamalai said.

In his letter to the PM, Stalin further said that it was an additional burden on medical students and also "another attempt to dilute the role of state governments and universities in the health sector."
