Devotees stood in line stretching to all the possible corner and turnings circumnutating the Basantapur Durbar Square while he-goat and he-buffalo continued to be sacrificed on the open square in front of Gaddhi Baithak.
The two-and-half year old goddess passed the selection process which included a traditional trial of bravery. On Tuesday she was brought to the Taleju Bhawani temple carried by her father on arms parading through the city where thousands of people queued in line to get a glance of her.
The Taleju Bhawani temple, situated within the Hanumandhoka Durbar area, is opened only on the day of Mahanawami or Ashwin Shukla Nawami (the ninth day in the month of Asoj as per the lunar calendar) every year.
