Former Israeli Ambassador to India Daniel Carmon welcomed the extradition of 26/11 accused Tahawwur Rana, calling it a major diplomatic and judicial victory for India.
Speaking to the media, the senior Advocate said "This is a completely legal procedure. It is important to see what case is filed against him. I will not talk about it now. I will talk about it after the entire process is over."
K Unnikrishnan, the father of Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan, the National Security Guard commando killed while fighting terrorists during the 26/11 terror attacks in Mumbai, said the extradition of 26/11 Mumbai attacks accused Tahawwur Rana is India's "diplomatic success."
"Prime Minister Modi had said that we will make India terror-free, and this is the biggest proof that those hiding anywhere in the world will be brought to India and punished," Sinha told reporters.
Pakistan has distanced itself from the 2008 Mumbai terror attack accused Tahawwur Rana and said that it is "very clear" that he is of Canadian nationality.
Reacting to the extradition of 26/11 Mumbai attacks accused Tahawwur Rana, Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai on Thursday said that Centre has been keeping a close watch on people who are against the country since Prime Minister Narendra Modi assumed the office.
"It's a big day for the country. I thank PM Modi, the American President, and the agencies involved in this extradition process. When he is hanged, it will be a tight slap not just on terrorism but also on Pakistan," Singh, now a leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), said.
Senior BJP leaders, including party's national general secretary Tarun Chugh, Bihar Deputy Chief Ministers Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha and state president Dilip Kumar Jaiswal conducted a meeting with party leaders and workers of Bihar on Thursday.
RJD MP Manoj Kumar Jha on Thursday spoke about Tahawwur Rana's extradition to India and said the country has not forgotten that 'barbaric violence' of the 26/11 Mumbai attacks.
