At least 39 Chinese nationals have been arrested by the Aluthgama police in connection with online financial fraud, Daily Mirror reported. Police said the suspects had defrauded millions of money over several months through the internet from the accounts of people in different countries.
The arrests were made by the Melbourne East Neighbourhood Policing Team "in relation to an alleged affray" at the Federation Square on Januar 29, Victoria Police said in a statement today. With the latest arrests, police have so far rounded up five suspects in connection with the incident

However, as a massive search operation continued on the second day on Sunday to nab the 'Waris Punjab De' chief and pro-Khalistan activist Amritpal Singh, four 'suspects' were brought to Dibrugarh on Sunday amid tight security.
