Malaysian police arrested 12 suspects, including 10 Taiwanese nationals, in connection with a major drug syndicate. Authorities seized drugs, firearms, and equipment, and are continuing their investigation into the smuggling operation.
A man from Ghulam Muhammadabad district in Pakistan's Punjab has been arrested for extorting money from a citizen while posing as a member of a terrorist group. The suspect confessed to the crime due to financial hardships.
As per the release, the suspects reportedly intended to transport the contraband to another state by train. Upon questioning, they admitted to having smuggled cannabis in a similar fashion to other states on at least four to five previous occasions.
"There is primary evidence to anticipate that the accused is a Bangladeshi. He does not have valid Indian documents. There are some seizures that indicate that he is a Bangladeshi national," Dixit Gedam, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Zone 9, said in a presser.
Noida Police have successfully apprehended a 29-year-old suspect, identified as Suraj Tiwari, also known as Rahul, a resident of Kalini Kunj in Delhi. The dramatic arrest occurred on Saturday when Tiwari attempted to flee during a routine police patrol on Pushta Road, according to the police
Earlier in the day, the Raipur Railway Protection Force (RPF) in Durg, Chhattisgarh, nabbed a suspect in the case while he was travelling on the Jnaneswari Express train.
Speaking to ANI, the Chief Minister said "Actor Saif Ali Khan's suspect who had stabbed him with a knife had been caught from Durg by the RPF. The Mumbai Police is coming and the suspect will be handed over to them..."
Additionally, the Mumbai Police has formed 20 teams, along with 10 teams from the Crime Branch, to investigate. CCTV footage from the Bandra area has been seized, and three suspects are being questioned.
