The India Open, which is part BWF World Tour, has been upgraded to the Super 750 category from this year and the world's best players would be vying for the coveted title at the KD Jadhav Indoor Hall in New Delhi from January 17-22, 2023.
The India Open, part of the BWF World Tour series, has been upgraded to the Super 750 category this year. The upgraded status has meant that almost all the top stars of world badminton would be in action at the IG Stadium (KD Jadhav Indoor hall) from January 17-22, 2023.
The pair was in great form this year, having won Gold in the Commonwealth Games 2022 and Bronze in BWF World Championships. They won French Open Super 750 and India Open Super 500 and were part of the historic maiden Thomas Cup of the Indian men's team this year.
The prestigious tournament, which will be played at the KD Jadhav Indoor Hall, has been upgraded to BWF World Tour Super 750 category in the new tournament cycle from the previous Super 500 and is a part of the Asian circuit that will kick-start the new season of international badminton.

The Indian badminton team defeated Chinese Taipei's Lu Ching Yao and Yang Po Han 21-13, 21-19 in the final after eliminating the top seeds from Japan, Takuro Hoki and Yugo Kobayashi, in the quarterfinals.
India's campaign in the BWF Super 750 competition came to an end after the men's doubles team of Chirag Shetty and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy lost their quarterfinal match earlier in the day as well.
The apex badminton body further revealed there will be an additional four stops on the BWF World Tour from 2023 to 2026 as part of expansion plans announced on Saturday.
