Filmmaker Sudipto Sen's directorial 'The Kerala Story' has been embroiled in controversy ever since the trailer of the film was released. The film is currently running in theatres.
Helmed by Sudipto Sen and produced by Vipul Amrutlal Shah, the film which was released last week in theatres has triggered a massive political row with various leaders reacting to the upcoming movie.
"She creates hindrances in all that work which is supposed to be in the interest of the nation. She is a modern-day Jinnah who has objections to everything which happens in our country and has problems with country growth".
A day after the Trinamool Congress government in West Bengal banned the film 'The Kerala Story', filmmaker Sudipto Sen said the decision was "politically motivated" and urged Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to watch the film and then take any decision
'The Kerala Story' has been facing protests across the country due to its storyline for quite some time. On Monday, during a media interaction filmmaker, Sudipto Sen opened up on the ongoing controversy related to his recent release film.
MP Pandey said that the issues shown in the film have been taking place in Chhattisgarh continuously so it is not only the story of Kerala but also of Bengal, Chhattisgarh and the entire country. She further said that the CM should declare the film tax-free in the state.
CM Chouhan said that 'The Kerala Story' makes people aware of the religious conversions and that everyone including the children should watch the film.

Communist Party of India (CPI) Rajya Sabha MP Binoy Viswam on Wednesday wrote to Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur about the upcoming film 'The Kerala Story', claiming that the movie is based on "Islamophobic propaganda" and intends to malign the image of Kerala.
On pleas in Supreme Court against 'The Kerala Story', he said, "We have a 100 per cent trust on our courts, the court already gave a report that the film is a piece of art, it is not a hate speech. So, we think we will get justice. Truth triumphs in the end."
