Himachal Pradesh PWD Minister Vikramaditya Singh on Wednesday said that the situation in the state has improved significantly and the government is working round the clock to evacuate the stranded people from flood-hit areas.
Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu on Wednesday said that around 50 per cent of stranded tourists have been evacuated from the flood-hit regions and added that the government's priority is to safely evacuate tourists.

Undertaking a daring mission, an Indian Coast Guard ship, 'Abheek' which is based at Okha Port in Devbhumi Dwarka district, rescued five fishermen from a boat, stranded at sea, officials said on Saturday.
"In a swift and successful operation today evening, IAF ALH Mk III helicopter rescued two injured civilian mountaineers in the nick of time from Thajwas Glacier, one of whom had suffered multiple fractures, hypothermia and other injuries," an official statement said.
According to the officials, the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) is working to open the highway. They said that due to the blockage of the highway, many passengers are stranded.
