The US Department of State has clarified that President Donald Trump's recent use of the term "unification" referred to US-China trade relations and not Taiwan, reaffirming that US policy on Taiwan remains unchanged.
The US State Department welcomed the decision by India and Pakistan on the cessation of hostilities and praised the leadership on choosing he path of wisdom, prudence and statesmanship.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said he is closely monitoring the India-Pakistan situation and echoed President Trump's call for a quick resolution, following Indian airstrikes targeting terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan in response to the Pahalgam attack.

US State Department spokesperson Tammy Bruce said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has got the full support from the Trump administration, adding that they are in constant communication with the governments of India and Pakistan following the Pahalgam terror attack.
Expressing his sorrow for the lives lost in the "horrific terrorist attack" in Pahalgam, Rubio also encouraged India to work with Pakistan to "de-escalate tensions" and maintain peace and security in South Asia, US State Department spokesperson Tammy Bruce said in a statement.

Meanwhile, the US State Department said in a statement on Sunday evening that North Korea and other "third countries" had "perpetuated" Russia's war on Ukraine and that it must end, as should Moscow's support for Pyongyang.
Bruce said that US President Donald Trump and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio have made clear that US stands with India and strongly condemns all forms of terrorism.
