In the wake the stampede at Mahakumbh, Samajwadi Party (SP) leader and former MP ST Hasan expressed deep concern and criticised the authorities for their negligence in managing the event.
Madhya Pradesh CM Mohan Yadav expressed grief over the Maha Kumbh stampede, confirming the death of three people from his state and urging everyone to stay safe.
Uttar Pradesh government has announced financial assistance of Rs 25 lakh for the families of the deceased. UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has also ordered a judicial inquiry and said that a judicial committee will submit its report to the state government within a time limit.
Spiritual leader Sri Sri Ravi Shankar has said that each day of the 45 days of Maha Kumbh is auspicious and there is no such thing as one particular moment or minute to take a dip.
"We are also announcing financial assistance of Rs 25 lakh to the families of the deceased on behalf of the state government. The judicial commission will look into the entire matter and submit its report to the state government within a time limit," CM Yogi added.
"Before Brahma Muhurta, between 1 am to 2 am, a huge crowd gathered on the Akhara Marg. Due to this crowd, the barricades on the other side broke and the crowd ran over the devotees waiting to take a holy dip on the other side. About 90 people were taken to the hospital through ambulances

Maha Kumbh Deputy Inspector in General (DIG) Vaibhav Krishna on Wednesday said that situations had brought in control while Juna Akhara along with two other Akharas would be going for Amrit Snan at Triveni Sangam of the Mahakumbh Mela.
