Karnataka Minister Priyank Kharge on Thursday admitted that the stampede near M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, which caused the death of 11 people, could have been prevented with better planning and coordination.
AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami on Thursday expressed deep shock and sorrow over the tragic stampede near the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru during RCB's IPL victory celebrations, which claimed the lives of 11 people, including five from Tamil Nadu.
Following the death of 11 people in a stampede on Wednesday near the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, former Indian cricketer Atul Wassan expressed his grief, saying, "This is very sad".
While speaking to ANI, Reddy said, "This is due to the complete failure of the Karnataka Government. Everyone knew that there would be a huge crowd today (after RCB's win in the final), but no proper security arrangement or traffic management was done..."
Union Minister HD Kumaraswamy on Wednesday accused Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar of being responsible for the stampede near the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru that claimed the lives of 11 and injured 30 others.

Earlier, following the tragic incident, the Karnataka government announced a compensation of Rs 10 lakh to the families of each deceased in the stampede near the Chinnaswamy stadium.
Expressing deep sorrow over the incident, CM Siddaramaiah said, "11 died and 33 were injured in the stampede. This tragedy should not have happened. The government expresses deep sorrow over this incident."
