India's High Commissioner to Sri Lanka Santosh Jha held a meeting with Sri Lankan Minister of Foreign Affairs Ali Sabry and discussed ways and means to further enhance bilateral cooperation.
Sri Lankan Foreign Minister Ali Sabry arrived in Kathmandu on Wednesday to attend the first meeting of the Nepal-Sri Lanka Joint Commission set to be held from December 21-22.
"December 21 and 22 have been fixed to hold the joint commission meeting between the
two countries. He will fly back to Columbo on Friday concluding the meeting," the official told ANI.
Sri Lankan Foreign Minister Ali Sabry said that Sri Lanka is looking at forging a closer relationship with India, noting that they are trying for electricity, renewable energy, tourism and port shipping connectivity.
In an exclusive interview with ANI, Sabry noted that the two nations have a history of sitting, negotiating and resolving problems, "just like in a family."
