The Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports on Saturday announced the formation of an 'Oversight committee' to probe into the levelled allegations against the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) and its chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh and other coaches.

The Bench of Justice Satish Chander Sharma and Justice Subramonium Prasad in an order passed on January 19, said that "the prestige of the country will be affected if there is any impediment in organizing the World Cup event which would require funding from the Union of India".
He also informed the media that the WFI had issued the explanation to the Sports Ministry within the stipulated 72 hours on the allegations made by wrestlers, including Olympic and Commonwealth Games (CWG) medalists, in Delhi.
