The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) on Tuesday released a Consultation Paper on the auction of radio frequency spectrum in the frequency bands identified for International Mobile Telecommunications (IMT).
In the spectrum auction conducted by the Department of Telecommunications which concluded on Wednesday, Jio, India's leading digital services provider, acquired additional spectrum in the 1800 MHz band in Bihar and West Bengal
According to a press release by the Ministry of Communications, the auction, held over two days from June 25 to June 26, resulted in the sale of 141.4 MHz of spectrum across multiple frequency bands, generating a total revenue of Rs 11,340 crores.
The central government said that the total quantum of the spectrum being auctioned is 10,522.35 MHz in various bands valuing Rs 96,238.45 Crores at reserve prices.
The Department of Telecommunications has released the list of final bidders for the spectrum auction in various band categories. The department has named Bharti Airtel Limited, Vodafone Idea Limited, and Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd as the final bidders in the spectrum auction of 10,523.15 MHz
