Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Tuesday urged Delhi MLAs to make the Delhi assembly a model legislature and said that dialogue and discussion are the basic mantras to become a good public representative.
Asserting that Delhi is seen as a "mini India," Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Tuesday said that the MLA's thoughts and views should be about the social welfare of the people of the national capital.
The Lok Sabha Speaker, Om Birla, will inaugurate a two-day Orientation Programme for Members of the Delhi Legislative Assembly on Tuesday, according to officials.
In his message, Birla said, "Heartfelt wishes to all of you on the auspicious occasion of the festival of Holi. The culture of our country has always been to promote social harmony, unity, and brotherhood."

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Tuesday congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi on being awarded Mauritius's highest civilian honour, the "Grand Commander of the Order of the Star and Key of the Indian Ocean."
He said, "Question is being raised on the voter list in every states. In Maharashtra, questions were raised on black and white voter list. The entire opposition is just saying that there should be a discussion on the voter's list."
