Kharif sowing in India is off to a strong start this year, recording an 11.3 per cent year-on-year (YoY) increase and it bodes well for the food inflation outlook for the year, according to a recent report by ICICI Bank.
Rabi crop sowing area has exceeded 632 lakh hectares in the country as per the data released by the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare on Tuesday.
Farmers in India have sown kharif crops across 1022.51 lakh hectares so far this year, as against 1021.48 lakh hectares in the same period of last year, according to the latest data from the Agriculture Ministry.
