"Severe Cyclonic Storm Remal over Coastal Bangladesh and adjoining Coastal West Bengal weakened into Cyclonic Storm at 0530hrs of the 27 May about 70km northeast of Canning and 30km west-southwest of Mongla. The system is likely to gradually weaken further," IMD posted on X.
Out of these 21 Chinese military aircraft, 10 entered Taiwan's southwestern and southeastern air defense identification zone (ADIZ), according to Taiwan's MND.
Around 8 p.m., the cyclone's eye moved from the southwest side of Mongla to the coasts of West Bengal and Khepupara in Bangladesh, according to Shamim Ahsan, deputy director of the Bangladesh Meteorological Department's Cyclone Warning Centre.
The severe cyclonic storm "Remal," currently churning in the North Bay of Bengal, is poised to cross the coasts of West Bengal and southwestern Bangladesh by Sunday midnight.

According to the Port Officer, Pampan Port, "A well-marked low-pressure area over west-central and adjoining south Bay of Bengal moved northeastwards during the past 12 hours, concentrated into a depression, and lay centred at 0530 hrs IST of Thursday, May 23, 2024, over central Bay of Benga
Of particular concern was the fact that 35 of the aircraft crossed the median line of the Taiwan Strait and entered Taiwan's southwest Air Defence Identification Zone (ADIZ).
