Amid the ongoing military drills between the US and South Korea, Pyongyang fired a short-range ballistic missile (SRBM) towards the East Sea on Sunday, Yonhap News Agency reported citing the South Korean military.
The spokesperson for the National Aerospace Development Administration (NADA) said that the test was conducted primarily for evaluating the capabilities of satellite photography and data transmission system and ground control system.
The Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) said that it has detected the launch and it was from North Korea's Wonsan area at 10:48 am. The military didn't give further details.
