Troops of Border Security Force (BSF) and 115 Battalion under South Bengal Frontier seized 3,916 Yaba tablets, 100 grams of Heroin, and an Apache motorcycle near Border Outpost Boyraghat, officials said on Thursday.
The Border Security Force (BSF), belonging to the 35 Battalion under the South Bengal Frontier, on Thursday, apprehended a man for allegedly possessing gold worth Rs 16,46,190, weighing 277.37 grams from his possession, said a statement by BSF.
The Border Out Post New Pipli, Adhoc SB-III Battalion, under South Bengal Frontier, successfully thwarted the plans of smugglers and liberated 140 turtles from their clutches. These smugglers were attempting to smuggle the turtles from India to Bangladesh, an official statement said.
According to the BSF, the events unfolded when the jawans of Border Outpost Ramchandrapur from the 107 Battalion under the South Bengal Frontier received information from reliable information about a large quantity of Ganja being stored in an abandoned house in Bira village, near the border.
Acting on a tip-off, the troops of Border Outpost Banpur, 54 Battalion, under South Bengal Frontier launched an operation and seized nine gold biscuits, nineteen gold chips, and a gold chain.
