The Muslim residents of the Sonapur Kachutali area in Assam's Kamrup (Metro) district staged a protest on Saturday in support of protecting tribal belt and block areas.
According to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), the Mumbai Fire Brigade (MFB) reported the incident at 12:24 pm at Opal Apartment, located near the Sonapur signal on LBS Road in Mulund (West), Mumbai.
Two people died while seven others were injured after police resorted to firing to control a mob who attacked police personnel and government officials during the eviction drive in the Kamrup (Metro) district of Assam, said Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.
The drug peddlers have been identified as Javed Ahmed and his son, Abdul Majeed, and the action has been taken under Section 68-F (1) of the NDPS Act 1985.
Several police personnel and a government official were injured following a mob attacked them at Sonapur Kachutali area in Assam's Kamrup (Metro) district on Thursday when a team of government officials and police went to the area to conduct an assessment of eviction drive.
