ISRO mobilised all its observation platforms and systems to record the signatures of the powerful solar storm that impacted Earth on Saturday. Both Aditya-L1 and Chandrayaan-2 have made observations and signatures have been analysed.
The US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) said extreme geomagnetic storm conditions continued Saturday, and there were preliminary reports of power grid irregularities, degradation of high-frequency communications and global positioning systems.
The rarity of this solar storm harks back to October 2003, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's Space Weather Prediction Center, marking a significant celestial occurrence not witnessed in many years.
