The incident took place at the Ahatguri area in the Morigaon district where a group of villagers caught three persons on suspicion of cattle smuggling.

Nepal’s Department of Revenue Investigation on Wednesday arrested two people and seized gold, weighing anywhere between 80 and 100 kgs, from their possession.
The Special Task Force of Assam apprehended two persons allegedly involved in cattle smuggling along the Assam-Meghalaya border, officials said on Wednesday.
In the first case, gold weighing 1.225 kgs valued at Rs 72.55 lakhs was seized. In the second case, 500 gms of smuggled gold valued at Rs 30.51 lakhs was seized.
