India and Indonesia on Thursday agreed to deepen the defence cooperation between the two nations by stepping up the maritime security coordination and enhancing collaboration in defence technology.
ndonesian Defence Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin hailed the longstanding ties between India and Indonesia during the third Defence Minsiters' Dialogue here in the national capital and expressed optimism towards building a stronger optimism in ties.
Singh, while Co-Chairing the Third India-Indonesia Defence Ministers' Dialogue with Indonesian Defence Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, noted that both nations adopted shared vision on maritime cooperation in the Indo-Pacific.
Indonesian Defence Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin received a tri-service Guard of Honour in the presence of Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh here in the national capital on Thursday.
The ceremony took place at the prestigious Bombay Gymkhana on the occasion of World Sports Journalists Day on Wednesday. Sharing the honour with her were long-time compatriots and fellow icons of Indian shooting, Deepali Deshpande and Anjali Bhagwat, as per a press release from SJAM.
During the meeting, Admiral Tripathi highlighted potential opportunities for collaboration in the defence industry for enhanced cooperation between two nations.
