Kerala Education Minister V. Sivankutty stated that the government will extend all possible support to children and a special order will be issued to facilitate admission after the recent hijab dispute in St. Rita's school, Kochi. He told the media, on the issue of the recent hijab issue,
The Education Minister referred to a specific incident at St. Rita's School in Palluruthy, Ernakulam, where a student was allegedly barred from attending class for wearing a headscarf.
"...In the suicide note, he wrote that RSS activists had mentally and physically harassed him. He also mentioned things that could not be spoken about on television. Based on this, a serious investigation into the matter is being demanded," Minister Sivankutty said.

Kerala Education Minister V Sivankutty on Tuesday said the resignation of Congress MLA Rahul Mamkootathil as Youth Congress state president is merely an adjustment between him and Congress leaders, and it cannot be seen as punishment for his wrongdoings.
