Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese hailed the Indian authorities for successfully carrying out the rescue operation to evacuate 41 trapped workers after the tunnel explosion in Uttarakhand.
After 17 days of tense anticipation, relief and happiness enveloped the faces of the family members of 41 trapped workers upon receiving news of their successful rescue from the Silkyara tunnel on Tuesday evening.
As the trapped workers were safely rescued from the Silkyara tunnel on Tuesday evening, their family members and relatives in different parts of the country burst into joy and celebrated the moment like Diwali by bursting crackers.
After the 41 workers were brought out safely from the Silkyara tunnel at the end of a determined 17-day effort on Tuesday, NDRF Deputy Inspector General Mohsen Shahidi said, "Rescuing 41 trapped workers itself was a challenge."
As news broke of the successful rescue operation of 41 workers from the Silkyara tunnel on Tuesday evening, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari sighed in relief and thanked the various rescue teams engaged in the operation over several days.
All 41 men, who were rescued from the collapsed tunnel after 17 days, have been brought to the Community Health Centre in Chinyalisaur for primary medical treatment.
After 41 trapped workers were rescued from the Silkyara tunnel, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik heaved a sigh of relief and thanked the various rescue teams that have been engaged in the operation over several days.
He wrote, "All 41 workers rescued from the Silkyara Tunnel in Uttarkashi.Kudos to the 22 agencies which worked day and night for the rescue mission including NDRE, BRO, Indian Army, Indian Air Force, NHIDCL, SJVNL, THFCL, RVNL, ONGC, Coal India and others. #uttarkashirescue"
After 41 trapped workers were rescued from the Silkyara tunnel, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Tuesday said that this is the victory of "patience, faith and hard work."
After the successful rescue of 41 workers trapped in the Silkyara Tunnel since November 12, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has said that in the coming time, the government will also review all the tunnels in Uttarakhand to avoid such situations.
