Tsering said: "China rules Tibet with an iron hand." He accused the Chinese Communist authorities of phasing out Tibetan language programs in local schools, changing the names of small towns to create Chinese influence and placing increased restrictions on Tibetan Buddhist clergy.
At the inaugural session on June 8, Sikyong Penpa Tsering and representatives of nations and ethnic groups facing China's repressive policies and programs expressed their views on China's internal political dynamics vis-a-vis its evolving foreign policy.
"Chinese government spend more money on internal security than external security. China is the only government that does that. They invest in artificial intelligence whether it's electronic identification where they watch your movement including geolocation," Penpa Tsering said.
