As many as 56 civilians stranded due to the recent flash floods were rescued by the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) in North Sikkim, the officials said on Sunday.
Minister of State for Home Affairs Ajay Kumar Mishra on Sunday held a meeting with Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang at the CM's residence to discuss the situation of flash floods in the state.

Director General of Border Roads Lieutenant General Rajeev Chaudhry on Saturday visited the disaster-affected areas in North Sikkim affected by the recent flash floods in the state earlier this month.
"Some people do not like the fact that India has been growing. Foreign countries are manipulating Sikhs to turn against India so that India diverts its attention towards these issues and doesn't prosper. It is foreign countries' conspiracy...," he said.
