Reacting to the allegations of the honey trap attempt, Former Karnataka Chief Minister and BJP MP Basavaraj Bommai on Friday said that the case should be inquired thoroughly.
BJP MLA Basanagouda R Patil on Friday said that he has urged Home Minister Dr Parameshwara to hand over the honeytrap case to Central Bureau of Investigation to ensure a "fair and impartial" investigation.
Amid claims by several MLAs in Karnataka across party lines that "honey trap" attempts were being made in the state to achieve political goals, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said there was no question of protecting anyone in the Honey Trap.

Speaking to the media in New Delhi today, he said the Karnataka government, led by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, is deceiving the backward classes and said the 4 per cent reservation to minorities is unconstitutional.
The Karnataka state cabinet approved an amendment to the Karnataka Transparency in Public Procurement (KTPP) Act, which aims to provide 4 per cent reservation in tenders to Minority contractors, official sources said.
Speaking to the media today, he asserted that BJP's stance is clear. "If the bill granting 4% reservation for Muslims is introduced in the assembly, BJP will launch a fierce protest both inside and outside the house. We will not allow its implementation," he said.
