Congress leader Siddaramaiah on Monday said that the way former Karnataka Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar was treated by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) should not be meted out to anyone.
A day after quitting the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Jagadish Shettar on Monday joined Congress ahead of the upcoming state assembly elections in Karnataka.
Shettar arrived at the Congress office in Bengaluru this morning . His induction to the party took place in the presence of Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge, Karnataka state Congress president DK Shivakumar and Leader of Opposition in the state assembly Siddaramaiah.
In this regard, Jagadish Shettar took to Twitter and said, "Fed up with the political events of the past few days, I have resigned from my MLA seat and will discuss my next move with the activists. As usual, I believe that your love and blessings will always be with me".
Savadi met the Congress's state president Shivakumar and the Leader of Opposition in the Assembly Siddaramaiah at the latter's residence in Bengaluru on Friday.
While addressing the press conference BJP's National General Secretary Arun Singh said, "Today we have released the list of 189 candidates. 52 out of 189 are fresh candidates".
Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) has hit out at the Congress for running a "misinformation campaign." State BJP general secretary Ravi Kumar stated that the brand is number two in the country and soon will begin exports too.
Karnataka Leader of Opposition (LoP) and Congress leader Siddaramaiah on Sunday hit out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said, is your purpose of coming to Karnataka is to give to Karnataka or to loot from the state?
"Nandini products are sold in other states and countries too and our Nandini brand is capable of facing any competition. Congress is doing politics in everything and shedding crocodile tears for farmers," he said.
Speaking to ANI, Siddaramaiah said, "My relationship with DK Shivakumar is cordial. There are no differences between us. Of course, differences exist in democracy but it is not detrimental to the interests of the party".
