Actor, producer and TV presenter Dr Shiva Rajkumar and his wife Geetha Shivarajkumar met the Chief Minister of Karnataka, Siddaramaiah. Minister Madhu Bangarappa also arrived at the Chief Minister's residence along with Shiva Rajkumar.

"Shakti scheme is a program for women. Women, who make up half of society, have been exploited for centuries. Minorities and women are deprived of opportunities and literacy," said Siddaramaiah.

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Saturday said that there is no confusion regarding Griha Lakshmi and Griha Jyoti schemes, two among five guarantees which were promised in the Congress manifesto, and asserted his government will do what it had said.
While addressing a meeting with various caste leaders, Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah said, "The caste-wise survey will provide the necessary data for taking appropriate decisions about the facilities to be provided to the people (preferential treatment)."
KJ George said on Wednesday that only consumers whose average power consumption plus 10 per cent of it is less than 200 units will be eligible to avail the scheme.
Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah emphasized that industrial development in the state will be encouraged as the sector has immense potential to generate employment opportunities.
