Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah gave a 'Chalo Delhi' call to protest against the alleged lack of tax devolution and grants-in-aid to the state by the Centre in the national capital on Wednesday.
Karnataka CM who also announced a protest against the BJP-led centre on Wednesday, said that the demonstration is not a political one but an attempt to' safeguard the interest' of the state.
To cover up its mistakes, the Karnataka state government is holding a protest in Delhi against the Central Government which was nothing but a political stunt, former Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said on Monday.
Addressing a press conference today at the conference hall, Vidhansouda, CM Siddaramaiah said that we must do justice for the opportunity given to us by the people of the state.
CM Siddaramaiah said, "KSRTC and other corporations are providing good service to the people of the state. In the last 4 years during the previous government, no buses were purchased. They stopped 3800 buses which created problems for the people of the state."
After Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah announced that he would lead a protest at Jantar Mantar in Delhi on February 7 against the Union government, BJP MLA Mahesh Tenginkai said that he is doing all this to divert people's attention.
