The week-long International Shivratri Mahotsav-2025 of Mandi commenced on Thursday with Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu formally inaugurating the festivities at the historic Paddal Ground in Mandi.
"From time immemorial people have been celebrating the Shivratri festivity with great enthusiasm and fervour. Himachal Pradesh is known as the abode of Lord Shiva, the Shivratri Mahotsav celebrated at various places in the state have their own significance," Sukhu said.
Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of 12 development projects worth about Rs 84 crore for Mandi district on the occasion of the inauguration of the International Shivratri Fair at the historic Paddal ground of Mandi town.
The globally acclaimed International Shivratri Mahotsav began on Saturday with Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu formally announcing the opening of the grand event from the historic Paddal Ground of Mandi.
Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Friday inaugurated the five-day state-level Shivratri Mahotsav at Indira Gandhi Stadium, Baijnath, Kangra district, and prayed for the welfare of the people of the state.
Meanwhile, speaking about the state budget, Chief Minister said that the upcoming budget of the present government would focus on education, and health and address the challenges of the future.
