Union Minister of Agriculture, Farmers Welfare, and Rural Development, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, today visited Ichhawar in Sehore, Madhya Pradesh, and interacted with farmers as part of the Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan (VKSA).
Chouhan said that for the MGNREGA (Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act), Madhya Pradesh will receive approximately Rs 6,262 crore this year.

Speaking to the mediapersons, Chouhan said, "I bow to the land of Punjab... The farmers of Punjab feed the entire country with their hard work... Direct sowing of rice saves a lot of water... I urge the farmers of the whole country to do direct sowing to save water..."
While addressing the mediapersons, Chouhan said, "Scientists are now coming out amongst the farmers in the fields. By interacting with the farmers, we understand the innovations they are making and the needs they mentioned today."
In Dabhthuwa village of Meerut, the Union Agriculture Minister spoke to the farmers, followed by an informal conversation on a cot in Jangethi Village.

Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Saturday hailed Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan, saying that under this campaign, demand-driven research will be done on the basis of feedback coming from the village.
While speaking with ANI, the Union Minister said, "Why was PoK formed? Who is responsible? Congress is responsible for the partition of India. Today, Kashmir is occupied by Pakistan because of the policies of Jawaharlal Nehru."
Addressing the Agriculture and Farmer's Welfare and Rural Development programme, Shivraj Singh Chouhan said, "I am very thankful to our farmers and want to congratulate them. So far, we have broken all previous records -- this year, we have produced 270 lakh tonnes more crops than last year.
