Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar announced that the permanent drinking water supply project to taluks in Bengaluru South district would be completed by December this year.

Speaking to reporters at Vidhana Soudha, Shivakumar stated that the police will take action against the culprits and assured that the government will not interfere in the investigation. He praised the Mangalore police, saying they are capable and will take necessary action.
Speaking to reporters at his Sadashivanagar residence, Shivakumar said, "Rahul Gandhi has said that the caste census must be time-bound. The Centre must set a deadline to finish this activity."
